Achievements

These are some of the opportunities which I am extremely grateful for - not only did they help me find myself as a person, but they also helped me to reach out to other people, make friends, make memories and make a difference.

Booth Beacon - A nouveau approach dining app

Built using a Raspberry Pi along with an RFID sensor and a distance sensor, the Booth Beacon uses the RFID sensor to sense a students card as well as a distance sensor to check if an individual is sitting in a seat. If either the RFID sensor or the distance sensor senses a person on the seat it sends a signal to the main server and this is reflected in the web application as well.
After multiple bad experiences with the seating at the

dining halls at UMass, the Booth Beacon has been designed to replace the UMass dining app with a totally different and more accurate system. The system can also be extended to solve seating problems in almost every setting. Uses HTML/CSS, JavaScript,  SQL, Python, Flask, Raspberry Pi and other Hardware
Achieved first-hand knowledge of 3D printing and modelling, learnt to work with Raspberry Pi 3b, practice on code and other aspects of the build.

Outstanding Delegate

CCC Committee - International MUN - June 2020

I was a part of the Continuous Crisis Committee at the International MUN in June 2020 and it was an amazing experience. I was the delegate from Afghanistan and we were discussing the COVID-19 response. I have always loved public speaking and debating and the rush of having to think on my feet in a MUN atmosphere was wonderful and the CCC gave me an opportunity to do that. I submitted over 12 directives and was also a key member of the committee directive which led me to win the outstanding delegate award.

School Head Boy

Class X - 2018-19

Quoting John Maxwell "The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails.” I believe the best mark of a leader is the ability to bring about positive change as well as give unbiased decisions based on the truth...
As I stood in front of the student body of 1000 students who had elected me as their head boy, I was even more reminded of this fact and at the end of the year, I was truly grateful that I was able to discharge my duties to the best of my abilities - in fairness, with positivity and with the confidence that I had been the voice of all the students.

Student Founder

School Debating Society - 2018-19

I have always loved debating and public speaking and I also love teaching and training. After my school crashed out in the third round of Verbattle (a prestigious inter-school debate competition) I decided to pitch the idea of forming a debating society to the school management. Soon we had over a hundred students lined up in the school auditorium for auditions. I headed the selection process and we selected the best 20 students to join the ranks of GEZELLIG - DMCS's own debating society!!

School Topper

BYJUs STEM Aptitude Challenge - 2017

I have always been interested in how things work and how to make things work, too. I have worked on various mental ability and aptitude challenges over the years, and when the Byjus STEM aptitude challenge came to my school I was eager to participate. And after a great testing experience, I won the position of school topper and got a tablet as the prize! You can bet my I was thrilled.

House Vice Captain

Class IX - 2017-18

At DMCS, the students are divided into four houses that compete with each other in the various and varied inter-house competitions. As the Vice-captain, I was in charge of choosing all the participants for the various competitions. I had to really look for the specific skills that would allow us to win each competition. It was a great learning experience in teamwork, team building, and conflict-management, too!
